Many people are still finding it hard to get by, even with the trillions of dollars that have been sent out by the government to boost the economy. Why, well the economy is simply too much affected by the economic turmoil that has affected the global financial stability. Some say they are getting ample help, some say they’re not, but one thing is for sure the recession is here and it’s here to stay. Maybe longer than we would want it to last but there’s nothing we can do but hunker down and do what we can to survive this recession. (more…)

One of the ways to keep your property secure is by installing a security system. Doors with pass codes and surveillance cameras are just some of the things you can have installed in you home. You should also invest in good locks for your doors and windows, as well as glass that isn’t easily broken, especially in places where a burglar may likely use as an entry point. If you have shrubbery, trim the places where burglars might use as a hiding spot, especially those near doors and windows. Making your house look occupied also helps, as robbers prefer to enter empty houses because it is easier and less risky. You can also opt for a trained guard dog who will only be aggressive against intruders. Installing lights in strategic places also serve as deterrents for bad elements.
The bailout hearings have passed all the hearings and deliberations and it has been signed into law by the new President Obama, now why am still facing foreclosure? Well this is how the system works, the law having passed needs to set-up a specific group who would be handling the disbursement of funds per se and that entails looking through all the paper work to determine who really is a legitimate claimant from the millions who are claiming assistance. You wouldn’t want to send a bailout check to Bernie Madoff now would you? Then you have to send in your specifics which states you are really in trouble with your mortgage and badly need the cash to pay for your mortgage that is long overdue, they check with the mortgage firm and looks at how much you need, and them, finally writes the check. It gets more interesting, they send it out (gets to you in maybe a couple of days) and you get the check. All the time you may have waited a couple of months to get the badly needed check for your mortgage.

Many companies are indicating losses in the millions if not billions of dollars and many more people are losing jobs. The real estate market, one of the first to succumb to the crisis is still in shambles and unable to recover from the pit it’s in.
You might ask, what else can go wrong? Everything that can has and the real estate market forecasts more losses next year as the economy stumbles down. Just hope the “change”, President Elect Obama will bring an early end to the economic crisis that has touched so many lives globally.

Toys are always a come-on for children no matter where they are, but toys with wheels must not be played with near the pool to avoid accidents because wheeled toys can cause children to easily slide into the pool. Educate your children on the importance of following the rules when using the swimming pool. (You can try telling them the consequence of running in the area surrounding the pool: they might slip and hit their head at one end of the pool or fall into the water unconscious then drown). Emphasize to them the possible danger of going alone into the pool.

There are no shortcuts when it comes to enhancing your credit worthiness.
- Get in touch with your creditors or consult a credit counselor if you are having financial difficulties. They could probably suggest to you ways on how to lessen if not eradicate your dilemma.
- Maintain your credit cards responsibly. The best way to obtain a high credit score is to always pay your obligations promptly despite some previous overdue payments. Just show that you have improved in your paying habits by paying on time now.
- Keep your credit card balances at a minimal level. Do not maximize your credit line. Do not have the mistaken notion that your credit line is something you should consume to its limit needlessly.
- It is a wrong belief that closing an account would remove it from your credit report. It could even hurt your credit score unless you have paid your debt in full when you closed it.
- If you do not need it, do not open too many new credit card accounts. It makes you look like a high risk prospect.
- Find out if the contents of your credit report are true. If not, make the necessary corrections as soon as possible.

Urbanization, for all its pluses, has also led to the increase in pollution, garbage and health problems. The rapid increase in population and scarcity of land in urban areas has also contributed to these problems. Crime is higher in urban areas, compared to suburbs. Concern about these problems have led a growing number of cities to initiate urban gardening projects. All over the country, communities have transformed vacant lots into beautiful gardens. Vegetable gardens now allow city folks to enjoy fresh, organic vegetables. And flower gardens have replaced what were previously eye sores in the metro. Perhaps most importantly, urban gardens have fostered a sense of unity in the community, as well as provided a venue where young and old alike can have a productive social interaction. Community gardens also help to foster a sense of identity and camaraderie for the people who create them.
