What To Look For in An Apartment
Before deciding on renting out an apartment, make sure it has the following things:
Safety features. These include fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and a fire escape.
Good plumbing. Check faucets, toilets, and the pipes under the kitchen sink for any leaks. Also make sure that you check the unit’s water pressure and temperature. To see how hot or cold the water gets, turn the shower when you go in the unit and see how long it takes for the water to heat up.
Working appliances. Make sure the appliances in the unit are not damaged and work properly. Ask to see the laundry area and check if it’s well-maintained and well-lit.
No evidence of pests. Look for any traces of rodents or insects on the floor and inside cabinets, closets, and drawers.
