Reviewing Your Lease
You probably already have a lot on your mind when you move to your new place, but no matter how busy it gets, make sure you review your lease before signing it. Here are some things you should look out for:
- The due date of your rent, who you should pay your rent to or where it should be sent.
- The late charges for the rent if you are unable to pay on time, and when these charges should begin.
- The amount of the deposit, when it can be returned, and how you can lose your deposit.
- What the rent includes (ex. utilities).
- Extra charges for amenities like the swimming pool or gym, and the exact amount of the fees
- Repairs covered by the lease.
